2016 Fall Progress in Mathematical and Computational Studies on Science and Engineering Problems

Unlike mesh-based methods, particle methods are developed in Lagrangian sense to simulate solid and fluid dynamics equations. Thanks to the distinguished meshless formulation, particle methods have been applied relatively easy to model fluid-structure interaction science and engineering problems in time-varying domain with complex geometry. In this symposium, distinguished researchers working on SPH (Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics), MPS (Moving Particle Semi-implicit) and DPD (Dissipated Particle Dynamics) particle methods are invited to share with us their recent progresses. In addition, tutorial courses will be provided to help students to enter into this promising research area.
